Just about any car will get you from here to Chicago. Most of the time the trip is uneventful, maybe a little traffic around the tollbooths and, of course the perennial road construction. But on any given day you may be surprised by something unexpected...bad weather, heavy traffic, or a crazy driver. On that day you are happy that you spent the extra money for the On-Star system, the anti-lock brakes, skid-control system and side airbags. When you choose a car you want to choose one that will be the best for the job.
For the first twenty years of my practice, the three most difficult cases to treat were the serious herniated disc problems, chronic degenerative spinal arthritis and spinal stenosis. While I provided many people with pain relief and the ability to function better, I knew that if we could just reverse the strains on the deepest joints of the spine we could make huge changes in their lives.
But the technology for safe, comfortable and effective disc decompression was just not available. Then a few years ago when I was looking around for equipment to help with serious spinal disc problems I found that the engineers at Axiom Worldwide had solved many of the problems with previous equipment and had developed the technology to help safely solve those most difficult disc problems.
The Axiom engineers have made the DRX9000 Non-surgical Disc Decompression device of components not available to any other manufacturer.
The precision Nippon Bearing (NB) specialty bearing system allows muscles to relax without any threat of sudden jerks due to sticky bearings. This bearing system supports the floating lower mattress as it glides back and forth during a spinal decompression treatment. Today, those bearings are lubricated with X-1R technology Lubricants. This combination has demonstrated to be quite effective, as recent test data supplied by Nippon Bearing shows great results.
The Axiom programmers developed software that applies the distractive forces in a logarithmic curve. This sneaks the force into the disc in a way that prevents the stretch reflex that might cause spasm in the spinal muscles and would prevent the force from doing its job.
The motor is the real heart of the system. It is a servomotor that feeds real-time load information to the computer so any changes in tension are accounted for and adapted to.
This motor produces the forces utilized for treatment which are coupled through Danaher-Motion's Micron gearhead.
This makes for a safe, comfortable and effective treatment. It also makes for a device that is several times more costly than most of the other devices on the market that do not have these advanced features.
Some people may say the servomotor, the fancy bearings and software are bells and whistles, or unnecessary. They think that a cheaper machine will do the job just as well for the average patient. Well, I think there is no average patient. Every bad disc is a unique situation. In my office we work with complex spinal problems ... people with osteoporosis, stenosis, prior surgery, severe degeneration, spondylolisthesis and sometimes combinations of these. So while the equipment may cost several times what a lesser quality machine might cost, it is worth the cost as I won't take chances with your back.
You don't need the extras like On-Star, skid-control, anti-lock brakes and side airbags in your car until you need them, and then you are glad you have them. And when it is your back that is being treated, you do want all the bells and whistles for the time when you need them.
It has been three years now since I started using the DRX-9000 in our programs and have never had better results. If you have back or leg pain that has not been helped you may benefit from our StandUpRight Spinal Rehabilitation Program using the DRX-9000.
